The Story

It all started during a visit to a local artisan market, where I found myself drawn to the intricate textiles created by Kutch artisans. Their work was vibrant, skillful, and full of stories.

Yet I noticed how little recognition these artisans received. Seeing the disconnect between their craftsmanship and the world inspired an idea—what if there were a way to bridge this gap?

How did it start?

I began thinking about how design could bridge the gap between artisans and consumers, allowing these talented craftspeople to showcase their work without the interference of middlemen. The more I thought about it, the more fascinated I became with their craft and the dedication behind it. This curiosity led me to approach the Qasab Foundation, eager to gain deeper insights into the lives and creative processes of these artisans.

After connecting with the Qasab Foundation, I traveled to Kutch, observing artisans’ techniques and listening to their stories. Through on-ground research, I gained insights into their needs and challenges, helping me shape solutions that would honor their craft while broadening their reach.
